The definition of Boudoir is; a woman’s private quarters (bedroom). A boudoir photoshoot is a type of photography session that captures photos of the subject (that’s you) in various positions and poses, wearing lingerie or partially nude with material coverage, in a private setting like a bedroom. In the case of brandywine boudoir photography, the subject (that’s you again) would come to my private boudoir studio called House of Boudoir.
What is a boudoir photo shoot? A boudoir photo shoot is a type of photography session that focuses on capturing intimate and sensual portraits of you. The goal is to produce an elegant and tasteful set of images that can make you feel beautiful, confident, and empowered. During the shoot, your photographer (that’s me @brandywine) will collaborate with you to create tasteful photos that capture all the best aspects of your inner and outer beauty.
Boudoir photo shoots are usually done in a cozy setting like a bedroom or studio. The photos will focus on flattering angles that bring out your best features and express the distinctiveness of your identity. In addition to emphasizing body language, lighting and poses, boudoir photographers will often provide wardrobe assistance, helping you choose pieces that flatter your figure and showcase how confident you feel during the shoot. The photo session also provides an opportunity to step back from our everyday lives and indulge in self-care and relaxation.
After the photoshoot, you’ll receive a set of soft edited images (on average about 70 photos total) that will make your confidence soar. Whether you plan to surprise a partner with a set of prints or keep the photos for yourself, boudoir photography allows you to showcase your beauty and share it with pride. What to expect with a boudoir photoshoot.
Expectations for what is a boudoir photo shoot. For the most part a boudoir photoshoot is simple and I’ll provide boudoir photography tips. Here are the top 10 most common things to expect with one of my boudoir photoshoots;
- Don’t come hungry. An empty stomach and feeling hungry can be a distraction for everyone. Eat before & I do provide wine or water.
- Shower & shave. Make sure you’ve showered and shaved. You want to do your part before arriving. You’ll pay less for professional editing too.
- Meet & greets. If we have never meet or spoken much this is the moment we get to know one another. Trust me when I say I’m laid back.
- Hair & makeup. Professional hair & makeup done for you by my in-house stylists and cosmetologists. They are some of the best.
- Wardrobe selection. I provide for you a collection of lingerie and material. All, sizes, styles & colors. And you can always bring your own.
- Room or setting selection. At my studio you select 2 rooms, 5 if you’re booking me for longer. These will be the themes for your photos.
- Listen to the photographer. We know what we’re doing. Positions & poses that may seem odd usually end up being some of your best shots.
- Relax and let go. This is the time I aim to make you feel like a movie star. After a few camera and lighting adjustments we’ll start to flow.
- Talk to me. Let me know what you’re feeling or thinking. I will put you at ease and help guide you to the tigress you want to be.
- Glow. Yep, after the photography session you’ll already start feeling a glow and the glow grows once you sit down to see your photos.
