from nervous to naked
A very first boudoir experience
We’re going to call her “J.” She made a two-hour drive to visit the House of Boudoir in Shelby, NC. The moment J walked in, I sensed her nervousness. She was a bit fidgety, avoided much eye contact, and her voice carried a slight tremble. Honestly, I’m used to it.
“I’m nervous,” J admitted as she settled into the makeup chair. All I could focus on though, was the beautiful blank canvas before me, knowing she could pull off something bold. I reassured her that feeling this way was completely normal and promised her nerves would melt away once we got into the flow of the shoot.
Fun fact: The most nervous clients often end up shooting nudes -and it’s not because I talk them into it. (I mean, I’m not a man ok.) When they see how incredible they look right off the back of my camera, their confidence gets an instant boost. It’s that moment of “fuck it!” and they just go for it. Even when they tell me at the start of the shoot that they don’t want nudes!
I absolutely love witnessing that transformation unfold right in front of my lens. What you may not realize is that a boudoir session isn’t just a confidence booster for you, it is for me as well. As an empath, it truly fuels my soul to do something meaningful and uplifting for someone else.

At the House of Boudoir, this is the BOHO bedroom, where the magic happens during the daylight hours. I love having the ability to work with the soft, inviting natural light that pours in, creating a gentle, almost innocent atmosphere. But what excites me even more is the opportunity to switch gears and use darker, more dramatic lighting to create a completely different mood. The versatility of this space allows me to capture a wide range of styles.
J” received around 100 stunning images like these, but I’m only sharing a small snippet here! After the BOHO, we moved onto PEARL: Can a bedroom exude a dark and sexy aura of sensuality? You betcha.
Nobody named nervous walked into this bedroom. She left a while back.
Which is more your style? Boho or Pearl? Soft and playful or dark vixen? I’ll let you in on a little secret: You can be both. You can be anyone you want to be. How cool is that?

Oh, honey. I’m so sorry you feel this way. I understand, though. Societies standards make it tough to be a woman sometimes. You’re all beautiful. Boudoir helps with seeing that.
