One end is another beginning

I’d love to take credit for Amanda’s boudoir session being the reason she’s now rocking that beautiful baby bump, but alas, the math just ain’t mathing. Close enough though, right?

Amanda has been a client of mine for over a decade-We’re friends at this point. It had been a while since I’d seen Amanda before she came to me last March for a boudoir session. We had so much life to catch up on. I knew she had unexpectedly lost her husband, someone I’d had the chance to hang out with few times years ago. Life has a way of shifting things, but reconnecting with her was truly special.

Life is a book, and we’re all just swiftly flipping through the pages, not knowing what the next chapter holds. We don’t get to peek ahead into the next chapters, but we do get to choose how we navigate on our way there. Like a book, it teaches us, and the best parts of a story come from the surprises along the way.

Amanda is undeniably high on my list of badass women I’m lucky to know. She’s raised two children into adulthood, supported her husband through his health challenges, and managed to run her own business as a hairdresser. And let’s be real—I know firsthand how tough two out of three of those things can be. But to lose someone you’ve been with since you were young teenagers?

I have two main points I want to make here: First, this woman is powerful. Amanda has faced life with such grace and unshakable strength, showing us all that it’s possible to keep going even when the world feels heavy. Life is a constant battlefield, and we all have to conquer it bit by bit, one challenge at a time. The real secret to that? Our mindset.

Sure, sinking into our sorrows can feel like the easier path, but it’s also the one that leaves us stuck. What’s not easy, what takes real courage, is moving forward into that next chapter with determination, resilience, and most importantly, self-love. We have to be gentle with ourselves in the process. Amanda is powerful.

My second point is simple: be kind. You have no idea what that woman who took some boudoir photos might be facing in her life. Live and let live. At the end of the day, kindness costs nothing but can make a world of difference to someone who may need it more than you realize.

Whether it’s friendships, careers, or love, the end of one chapter is always the beginning of another. It’s the inevitable cycle of life.

The end of a chapter isn’t something to mourn; it’s something to embrace because it’s the start of the next adventure.

The page has turned, and Amanda has a loving and supportive partner to journey through life with. I wish them the very best with the new family addition, a baby girl.

If she’s anything like her mama, she’s bound to be fierce. The world needs more of us.

I have loved your work since you did my first child’s newborn pics almost 16 years ago!! Every picture I have on my walls are canvas that I had made from your sessions!! Can’t wait to do another family session!
